This satsang is a recording of Shikhaa’s session with the NZ Yoga Collective 200-hour yoga teacher trainees, March 2026. Shikhaa speaks on the true meaning of yoga as the realization of Oneness, revealed when the veil of the mind is exposed.By examining the mind as a veiling phenomenon, she shows how human conditioning—shaped in part by subtle forms of threat—obscures the original, pure, ever-present Being and creates a sense of lack.
Shikhaa uses the image of a carpet’s warp and weft to describe the unseen thread upon which the entire pattern of life is woven. While we become absorbed in our personalities, the colours that define our role, Yoga is the recognition of Oneness: the underlying thread, the essential Self that remains unchanged beneath all appearances.
The satsang concludes with a short meditation, directing the mind away from the urge to become something more, toward the recognition of one’s true nature as pure existence (Sat), pure consciousness (Chit), and pure love (Anand). 21.04.2026
