Wisdom of Meditation
The Simplicity of Meditation

Meditation is a profound and ancient tool recommended by enlightened sages for the human being who wishes to awaken to their true nature. Far from being a mere relaxation technique, meditation allows the human being to transcend the habitual identification with the limited personality — the body, mind, intellect, and ego — and discover the unchanging reality of the Self.
With decades of experience leading students beyond the surface layers of the mind, Shikhaa’s approach to meditation is not centered on controlling thoughts, but on a subtle understanding of how the outward-bound mind, constantly engaged with objects and experiences, can gently return to its source. This source is not something to be acquired or created; it is the ever-present Self — whole, unchanging, and inherently free.

The 5 Layers of Meditation

In this retreat, the focus will be on the means by which the mind is guided, through deepening layers, into meditation - indrawing the senses, contemplation on the true nature of Self, one-pointed attention, transcendence of the individual self, realisation of the unified Self. Through this guidance, many experience a profound shift from intellectual understanding to the subtle, intuitive recognition of their own boundless nature.
After the retreat weekend, the Wisdom of Meditation Centre offers ongoing support with your meditation practice by attending online or in-person guided meditation, satsangs, Mayank's movement classes and the meditative practice of Kirtan.

Piercing the Veil
A special Qi Gong practice with Mayank

Mayank will offer a special Qi Gong practice called Piercing the Veil — a sequence of movements designed to guide us beyond the surface of physical form and into direct contact with the subtle, unseen dimensions of life.
Through Qi Gong, breath, and unbroken awareness, this practice helps dissolve the veil of habitual perception, allowing us to sense the vital energy — the life force — that animates all things.

In this space, we begin to recognise life as both form and formless, physical and infinite, tangible and beyond touch. Each movement becomes an exploration, revealing that behind every sensation, and every moment, there is a vast, sustaining power. By coming into harmony with this power, we open to a deeper sense of wholeness and completeness.

Piercing the Veil is a beautiful complement to meditation, bridging the inner stillness of meditation with the embodied flow of movement. It allows awareness to expand, so that when we sit at ease in meditation, rooted in the living presence that moves through all of life.
