The Absolute Perfection and Sheer Beauty of the moment

is never recognized by the mind.

Then one has to ask oneself.

What is mind?

Is anything the way you thought? By its very nature, thought is limited to what has already been known. So a person thinks he knows something, but what he knows is what he thinks - not what is. Each person has his own dictionary of meanings according to all his previous experiences.

An artist once said, "You have difficulty painting a hand because you think it's a hand." A so-called mind and all its thoughts - descriptions of what has been seen, known and experienced - a storehouse of information superimposed on what is.

Truth is not spoken or written. The very use of words as a form of communication refers to all the differences of understandings, memory, personal experience, and language.. a speaker, a listener, what is spoken - a writer, a reader, what is written. A child's innocence and purity is slowly and slowly covered by what appears to be necessary - the ability to function in the world.

Then there is the discovery - that an adult, trained into what has wrongly been termed as 'knowledge' - knowing things, can realize Truth as the original Being, forever untainted and uncoloured by any sense of difference - past, present, future, pain and pleasure, birth and death - a tangled web of illusion called thought.

Meditationwhen the attention is allowed to be free from its association or involvement with the apparently formed reality, to merge or unite with the ocean of freedom.

What is meditation? - a slow revolution - not from any government or system. A revolution within one's own self - the self that is imprisoned by unseen walls.

From that very first time it was realized, after a mantra was whispered into the ear that what had seemed to be such a big and unsolvable problem, had completely evaporated, dissolved into non-reality by what had appeared to take place by merely closing the eyes for a few minutes.

Again and again, it becomes clearer and clearer, more and more direct, that the solution to all the problems that appear to be irresolvable, had to be, first and foremost, tackled at the root - like an expert gardener who knows that every plant and tree has to be watered directly at the roots that are hidden in the ground. The simplicity of this should not be disguised by the complexity of methods, techniques, systems and titles, and then said that some "work" better than others. It is me who has to recognize and understand that uneasiness, dissatisfaction, fear, and pain are at the root of mind's sense of reality... a reality of memories and experiences - a built-up collection of ideas recorded and stored in the mind that had once been so innocent and pure.

This collection or recording does not have to be, and cannot be erased, and all attempts and hopes that this will take place will still perpetuate their truthfulness. A magic show doesn't have to stop for a person to have the understanding that it is a fake show of something appearing as it is not.

No amount of sounds or apparent movement can detract from the peace, beauty, stillness, and silence. Meditation, meditation, meditation, awareness, awareness, awareness ... all the sounds come from the Hum, not anything appearing out of something or from somewhere - one vibration - just as it always is, has been and always will be.

You have a very dear and beloved friend who is always with you.

He never minds when you get busy and seem to forget or ignore him. He just waits and watches. He has no expectations as his love remains ever the same. He sounds too good to be true, and yet, he is the only Truth. He is your very own Self.

There has to be a surrender

to life as it is

which may or may not be

what one wants or expects...

there is no individual to change

or alter life in any way.

There is no possibility of avoiding

life as it is.

See it as it is...

accept it as it is

and You are pure, free, and forever.

Song of the Devotee

O Beloved One, you have left me here

to cross the river alone...

the force of the current is so strong

it appears to be a task that is impossible to accomplish.

I am so completely immersed in the water

and have come so far, I cannot go back...

I must go on...

And just then I hear your voice

from within me:

Meditate!

it makes no sense...

how can closing my eyes help me across

this formidable current?

But because you said it,

and my trust in You remains unshakeable

I stop...

close my eyes...

there is no river, no current, no opposite shore to reach.

A locked door cannot be opened with the wrong key, no matter how hard you try; so it's not effort that opens the door. Freedom from the mind does not involve efforts - it takes the right key, Gyan, Knowledge.

A person thinks he is an individual and there is a world outside... I stop writing ... to ponder or reflect upon the subtleness of the topic and a bird's ever so sweet morning chirping catches the attention, as the attention is not limited to an idea.

Whether it was the Buddha or Raam, what is the factor that provokes someone to probe deeper or question the obvious? Life as a person knows it has a beginning called birth, and an end - death. This is his undeniable truth. So life itself, call it God, Guru, or your own highest awareness is always challenging the confined, limited sense of a separate individual that is born and will ultimately die.

Then, accepting the challenge, means not backing away and remaining confined to mind's belief system I am only body-mind. Again and again, there is the decisiveness and clarity that mind's truth is not truth, allowing the expansiveness of the Self-sun to shine forth in all its glory as the true vision of Oneness.

Amaram hum Madhuram hum Amaram hum Madhuram hum
